Johann Kaspar Mörikofer is recognised for his work as a medallist and engraver of gems and dies. He was the nephew and pupil of Johann Melchior Mörikofer. From 1761 onwards, he succeeded him as a coin engraver in Bern.
His oeuvre comprises honorary medals, prize medals and commemorative medals, attesting to his expertise in the fields of engraving and medal-making.
