Johann Jakob Mentzinger
Born in 1604.
Died in 1668.
Johann Jakob Mentzinger was a draughtsman, tutor and pastor. His work is distinguished by topographical surveys, notably those of Schaffhausen and Diessenhofen, which he produced drawing inspiration from Merian’s aerial views. These representations attest to his interest in the topography of Switzerland, although the details of his career and influence remain partially obscure.
