Jean de Bolaz
Born in 1483.
Died in 1501.
Jean de Bolaz was an artist whose oeuvre encompassed painting, stained glass and sculpture. He created stained-glass windows for the chapel of Gruyères Castle, probably between 1480 and 1485, as well as for the church of Vouvry, between 1488 and 1493. His talents as a sculptor are manifested in the Notre-Dame du Pont Chapel in Monthey, around 1490, and in the parish church of Martigny, in 1495.
The details of his career remain partially obscure, leaving an element of mystery surrounding his artistic legacy.
