Januarius Zick
Born in 1730.
Died in 1797.
Januarius Zick was a recognised German artist known for his work as a painter and architect. His practice is distinguished by his specialisation in fresco painting, a medium that enabled him to put his talent at the service of the court of the Prince-Elector of Trier. Between 1757 and 1758, he was also active in Basel, although the details of this period remain partly unclear.
His œuvre bears witness to an era in which Baroque art was flourishing in Germany, but the specific characteristics of his creations still require further clarification.
