Jakob Stächeli
Born in 1507.
Died in 1525.
Jakob Stächeli was a stained-glass artist whose activity in Bern is documented during his short life. He is chiefly recognised for his stained-glass creations, several of which were made for the churches of Gross-Affoltern, near Aarberg, and Ursenbach. Although little detailed information is available about his oeuvre, his impact on the field of stained glass at the beginning of the sixteenth century deserves to be emphasised.
