Jakob Reidler
Born in 1486.
Died in 1498.
Jakob Reidler was an artist active in Basel, where he is documented from the same year. His work focuses on religious motifs, attesting to his activity as a painter and printer. Although his career was short-lived, ending in 1498, he contributed to the local art scene of his time.
His status as a citizen of Basel underscores his roots in the city’s culture, but little information survives about the extent of his work and his influence.
