Jacques Thouron
Born in 1749.
Died in 1789.
Jacques Thouron was an enamel miniaturist whose activity in Paris is documented from 1770 onwards. He specialised in making copies of major oil paintings, catering primarily to an aristocratic clientele. Among his notable clients was the Count of Provence, who would become King Louis XVIII.
Thouron’s works attest to refined craftsmanship, although little detailed information about his output has survived.
