Jacques Dunant

Born in 1825.

Died in 1870.

Jacques Dunant was a Swiss painter renowned for his landscapes. He was a pupil of François Diday, which undoubtedly influenced his artistic approach. The details of his career and work remain partly obscure, but his affiliation with Diday’s school suggests a sensitivity to light and nature, characteristic of the landscape art of his time.

Dunant’s contributions to Swiss landscape painting merit further exploration in order to better understand his impact and legacy in the field.
