Irmgard Burchard was both a painter and a gallerist. Her artistic career led her to live in Brazil from 1941 to 1947, then in Paris from 1947 to 1951, before settling in Egypt from 1951 onwards. Her work is characterised by a diversity of genres, including interiors, portraits, landscapes and thematic series.
These different periods of her life undoubtedly influenced her style and artistic choices, although the precise details of her work remain partly uncertain.
