Hercule Nicolet
Born in 1801.
Died in 1870.
Hercule Nicolet was a recognised lithographer known for his role in illustrating Louis Agassiz’s earliest works. From 1848 to 1852, he also served as a curator at the Institut agronomique de Versailles, a period that attests to his commitment to the scientific field. Although little documented, his lithographs contributed to the dissemination of the natural-history knowledge of his time.
