Heiny Widmer was a versatile artist recognised for his work as a painter, draughtsman and lithographer. He also created stained-glass windows and concrete reliefs. Alongside his artistic career, Widmer worked as a drawing teacher at the Kantonsschule.
From 1970 to 1983, he served as curator at the Kunsthaus Aarau, thereby contributing to the promotion of art in the region.
