Hans Leu der Jüngere, II.

Born in 1490.

Died in 1531.

Hans Leu the Younger was an artist whose activity took place primarily in Zurich. He is recognised as a painter, draughtsman and designer of stained-glass motifs. The son of Hans Leu the Elder, his work attests to an artistic continuity within his family, although the precise details of his production remain partly uncertain.

His legacy in the field of Zurich’s visual arts merits further exploration, both for his role in the development of painting techniques and for his contributions to stained-glass design.
