Hans Jakob Rüter
Born in 1610.
Died in 1613.
Hans Jakob Rüter was an artist whose activity is documented as that of a stained-glass painter and flat painter. He may be identifiable with Hans Jacob Reutter, also a stained-glass painter, who is mentioned in Nuremberg in 1605 and originated from Zurich. In 1610, he obtained citizenship of the Zur Meise guild.
His career came to an end in 1613, the year in which he received payment for work carried out at the Fraumünster in Zurich. The details of his life and œuvre remain partly obscure, leaving questions about his impact and recognition within the artistic milieu of his time.
