Hans Heinrich Tüfel

Born in 1644.

Died in 1677.

Hans Heinrich Tüfel was an artist active in Lucerne, recognised for his work as a painter of panel paintings and decorative schemes. In 1673, he became a member of the Lukasbruderschaft, an artists’ confraternity. Among his notable works is an altarpiece erected in the parish church of Menznau, executed in 1677.

He was the son of Caspar Tüfel and the brother of Hans Wilhelm, attesting to an artistic lineage. Details of his career and style remain partly obscure, leaving room for interpretation regarding his impact on the artistic landscape of his time.
