Gustave Maunoir
Born in 1872.
Died in 1943.
Gustave Maunoir is a painter recognised for his depictions of the landscapes of Geneva. A pupil of Barthélemy Menn, he absorbed his teacher’s influences while developing his own style. The son of Paul Maunoir, he was probably exposed from an early age to an artistic environment conducive to his development.
Maunoir’s works bear witness to a particular sensitivity to the surrounding natural world, although details of his career and his impact on the artistic milieu remain partly unclear.
