Guillaume de Merveilleux
Born in 1803.
Died in 1853.
Guillaume de Merveilleux is recognised as a landscape painter. Together with Maximilien de Meuron, he played a significant role in the artistic development of his region by co-founding the Société des amis des arts in Neuchâtel. This initiative testifies to his commitment to promoting the arts and local culture.
The details of his oeuvre and style, however, remain poorly documented, leaving some uncertainty as to his impact on the artistic landscape of his time.
