Giovanni Battista Mola distinguished himself as an architect and painter. His oeuvre includes the writing of art manuals as well as works on architecture. Among his notable achievements is the construction of the Forte Urbano in Castelfranco Bolognese.
He was also the father of Pier Francesco Mola, thereby contributing to the continuity of the family’s artistic legacy.
