Giancarlo Bisi
Born in 1964.
Giancarlo Bisi works as an operatore sanitario at Faido Hospital while pursuing an artistic practice in parallel; he is described as a passionate printmaker (incisore) and painter.
In 2017, he established the studio named « Latteliédutriciclo » in Deggio, fitting it out from two old stalls; it has served as the material basis for his painting and printmaking practice.
Following an encounter with the artist and teacher of incisione Giulia Cantarutti, the studio was expanded to include an intaglio printmaking workshop and has offered summer printmaking courses since 2020.
In the display entitled « Doppi, dittici e specchi », Giancarlo’s representations of trees were among the elements exhibited and were shown alongside works by Giulia Cantarutti. His collaboration with the jewellery maker Giulia Taragnoli (Butéa da Quint), and the friendship that arose from this relationship, resulted in a group exhibition at the Dazio Grande bringing together the works of the trio.
