Giambattista Maderni
Born in 1758.
Died in 1802.
Giambattista Maderni was a painter and fresco painter of Italian origin. He trained at the academies of Florence and Rome. His professional career led him to work for eight years at the court in Paris, before continuing his activity in Berlin, London and Saint Petersburg.
From 1802 onwards, he settled in Stockholm. Maderni was the son of Pietro Maderni, attesting to a familial continuity in the artistic field. The details of his production and influence remain only partially documented, leaving questions about his legacy open.
