Gertrud Wagner

Born in 1913.

Gertrud Wagner was a sculptor whose artistic career unfolded between Zurich and Paris. She had the opportunity to study under Hildi Hess and Germaine Richier in Zurich, which undoubtedly may have influenced her approach to sculpture. Her work is characterised by portrait heads and figures, bearing witness to a particular sensitivity to the human form.

Alongside her career as a sculptor, she worked as a fashion illustrator between 1941 and 1943, adding a further dimension to her artistic expression. The details of her death remain uncertain.
