Gabriel Kauw

Gabriel Kauw was a landscape painter whose activity is documented. The son and pupil of Albrecht Kauw I, he practised his art in Strasbourg in 1677 before settling in Nuremberg. After 1680, he returned to Bern.
Although he enjoyed initial success, his work subsequently fell into oblivion. He was also the brother of Albrecht Kauw II.
