Gabriel Fiesinger
Born in 1723.
Died in 1807.
Gabriel Fiesinger was a German artist known for his work as a copperplate engraver. He was active primarily during the eighteenth century. Between 1781 and 1786, he contributed to the illustrations for Johann Caspar Lavater’s “Physiognomische Fragmente”, a work that explores the relationship between physical appearance and character.
Although poorly documented, Fiesinger’s illustrations testify to the period’s interest in physiognomy and the visual representation of human features.
