Fridolin Eggert

Born in 1655.

Died in 1709.

Fridolin Eggert was a painter and Benedictine monk active in Disentis. His notable works include the execution of a painting for the high altar of the parish church of Rabius in 1687. In addition, he is recognised for his major contribution to the decoration of the pilgrimage chapel of Sainte Marie de Licht, near Truns, between 1687 and 1690.

These works attest to his artistic commitment within the religious community and to his influence in the field of sacred art in his time.
