Franz Anton Kraus
Born in 1705.
Died in 1752.
Franz Anton Kraus was a painter whose activity is documented primarily through his religious works. In 1746, he proposed a design for the transformation and interior arrangement of the choir of the Klosterkirche in Einsiedeln. That same year, he executed ceiling frescoes in the lower choir.
In 1749, he devoted himself to creating images for the altars in both the lower and upper choirs. His work bears witness to a period of artistic renewal within the religious context of his time.
