Esther Hörni
Born in 1934.
Esther Hörni presents herself as self-taught: she states that she supplemented her artistic training through approximately thirty years of «Hochschul-Kurse» and through work undertaken with the guidance of teachers.
She declares that painting has been her great passion since her youth.
Her educational background includes primary, secondary and commercial schooling, as well as various Volkshochschule courses attended in Zürich. On a personal level, she reports continuous residence in the canton of Zürich and a marriage declared to have lasted forty years.
The artist states that she has exhibited in Switzerland and abroad, and notes that many of her works are now held in private and public collections. An exhibition dated 1995 is documented in Bonstetten, at the Galerie für Gegenwartskunst Elfi Bohrer (mentioned jointly with Emil Steiner). She also appears in the «Künstler» section of the Art Haari website under the entry «Hörni», attesting to dissemination or presentation in a commercial/gallery context.
