A Swiss painter with citizenship of Bonfol, Elisabeth Adler-Kaufmann devoted her work to portraiture, the human figure and landscape. The Engadine occupies a particular place in her subject matter: Alpine views accompany a body of work also centred on the representation of people.
Her practice encompasses oil painting, watercolour, reverse-glass painting and copper engraving. SIK-ISEA records these media and subjects, which provide an approach to her oeuvre through painting as well as works on paper and prints.
The Swiss Society of Women Visual Artists lists her among its former members. Her work also circulates in digital form: the Sunkhronos Institute presents reproductions of her watercolours, paintings and etchings on its website.
