El Frauenfelder

Born in 1979.

El (Elisa) Frauenfelder is listed as a Swiss painter.

From 2000 to 2005, she studied painting at the Kunstakademie Helsinki (Taideyliopiston Kuvataideakatemia, KuvA). Her studio is listed as being in Ossingen.

Her first documented major solo exhibition was presented in 2015 at Kunstmuseum Winterthur, an event associated with the monographic catalogue devoted to her work. The volume dedicated to El Frauenfelder was published in association with Kunstmuseum Winterthur and includes contributions by Markus Stegmann and Simona Ciuccio. The bibliographic record notes a 120-page print edition comprising 56 colour plates and specifies a publisher’s printing dated ©2015, with a stated publication date of 15 February 2016.

Alongside this solo presentation, her participation in group exhibitions is documented for 2013 (Kunstmuseum Thun), 2016 (Kunstmuseum Olten), and 2017 (Trudelhaus Baden). At an institutional level, she received the Manor Kunstpreis in 2015, an award mentioned in the available entry.

The body of material published in connection with the exhibition at Kunstmuseum Winterthur serves as the principal documentary reference: it is listed as a monographic catalogue published by Scheidegger & Spiess and brings together images and critical texts accessible in the cited edition. The available biographical and institutional elements — her training in Helsinki, her solo exhibition at Kunstmuseum Winterthur, and the award of the Manor Kunstpreis in the same year — make it possible to situate her artistic trajectory within contemporary Swiss artistic production as presented by these sources. The indication of a studio in Ossingen completes the career notice provided by the same documents.
