A floral artist, he specialised in painting flowers as well as creating designs for fabrics and wallpaper. His professional career led him to work mainly in Alsace before settling in Paris from 1845 onwards. He was also the uncle of another artist, Eduard Müller, nicknamed “le petit Müller”.
