Conrad Ziegler
Born in 1770.
Died in 1810.
Conrad Ziegler was an artist whose principal activity lay in the fields of drawing and printmaking. He was a pupil of Conrad Gessner in Zurich, which no doubt influenced the course of his artistic career. Ziegler is particularly known for having produced twelve prints for Gessner’s work "Malersiche Darstellung der vorzüglichsten Truppen Europas", published between 1799 and 1802.
These works bear witness to his engagement with the depiction of the European troops of his time, although further details of his career remain uncertain.
