Christiane Pogany-Abächerli
Of Swiss origin · Contemporary figurative landscape painting · watercolour and acrylic.

Christiane Pogany-Abächerli develops a form of landscape painting attentive to place and atmosphere. Of Swiss origin, she established her practice in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, in the French département of Isère, where she settled in 2013.
Her painting developed alongside work in teaching. The available accounts place landscape at the centre of her output, revealing a figurative approach grounded in the observation of particular locations.
In October 2018, she presented her landscapes at ExpO’Bule in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, in an exhibition inaugurated at the beginning of the month and scheduled to continue throughout October. The following month’s cultural programme records a further presentation of her paintings at the same venue.
Watercolour and acrylic are expressly identified as the techniques featured in this second exhibition. The watercolour Cap d’Agde presented by Swiss Art Gallery continues this engagement with landscape and belongs within this corpus.
