Christian Bühler was an artist whose activity is primarily associated with the painting of coats of arms. He also produced sketches for stained-glass windows and wall frescoes. From 1854 to 1880, he held the position of curator of the public painting collection in Bern, where he contributed to the preservation and appreciation of the city’s artistic heritage.
His work testifies to a commitment to the visual arts, although details of his artistic production remain partly obscure.
