Charles-Joseph Auriol was a landscape painter whose work focused on the landscapes along the shores of Lake Geneva, as well as those of Savoy and Italy. A pupil of Pierre-Louis De la Rive, Auriol succeeded in capturing the natural beauty of these regions through his art. His works testify to a particular sensitivity to the nuances of light and variations in topography, although little detailed information about his artistic career is available.
