Armin Hofmann is recognised for his role as a graphic designer and creator of a variety of visual media, including posters, books, graphic works and stage sets. His academic career extended from 1947 to 1986 at the Allgemeine Gewerbeschule in Basel, where he taught in the specialist class for graphic design. In 1968, he founded and directed the continuing-education class in visual design.
In addition, from 1955 onwards, he was regularly invited as a lecturer to American universities, attesting to his international influence in the field of graphic design.
