Arbogast Moosbrugger is recognised as court painter to the prince-bishop in Pruntrut. He belonged to the Moosbrugger artistic dynasty, which originated in Vorarlberg, and was part of the Arlesheim branch. The son of the painter Andreas Moosbrugger, his œuvre and influence remain only partially documented, leaving questions as to the extent of his artistic output and his impact on the artistic milieu of his time.
