Angelo Donadoni
Born in 1945.
A biography circulated on a commercial listing reports that, at the age of thirteen, he was placed in an educational institution, subsequently lived on the streets, and resorted to theft in order to survive. The same source presents his painting practice as a path towards reintegration, evoking painting as an almost second chance in his personal trajectory.
Among the works noted is 'La Direction', whose dimensions are given as 77 × 50 × 1 cm (also converted into inches in the listing) and which is associated in one advertisement with a version dated 1992, described as oil on wood. Some notices further specify that the work is presented framed in the listing in which it appears. Another work identified by the title 'Horeb' is described as mixed media (Mischtechnik), measuring 53 × 72 cm, in a sales listing.
Several offer listings associate his name with oils described as surrealist in manner and with abstract landscapes dated to the 1990s, indicating a body of work traceable to that decade.
The circulation of his works is primarily evident through online platforms and marketplaces on which galleries and dealers list works signed with his name (examples noted: Artsper, 1stDibs, Pamono). On these same sites, his name is linked to a range of movements or commercial labels — Naïve Art, New Figuration, Art Brut, Arte Povera — presented as listing keywords, without the materials consulted yielding a single categorisation. The terminological variation observed from one listing to another reflects platform indexing practices more than consolidated stylistic assertions within a critical corpus accessible here.
In sum, the available documentation combines a biographical narrative marked by a disrupted life trajectory and by painting as a means of reintegration with a contemporary commercial presence that makes it possible to identify works, their formats, and dates recorded in online catalogues.
