Andrea Casella
Born in 1562.
Died in 1573.
Andrea Casella was a sculptor whose artistic activity is documented in Rome around 1573. Although he is chiefly recognised for his sculptural work, he is also mentioned as a painter in a document dated 20 October 1562. A member of the Casella family of artists, he was the brother of Giovan Battista and Barnaba Casella.
Details concerning his career and artistic impact remain partly obscure, leaving questions about the extent of his œuvre and his influence in the artistic milieu of his time.
