Alexander Roob

Born in 1956.

In 1985, he launched CS, presented as a multi-volume graphic novel that includes drawn reportage produced, notably, for the Grafische Sammlung der Albertina (Vienna), the Museum für Moderne Kunst (Frankfurt am Main), and the daily newspaper The Guardian (London).

Alongside his narrative work, he worked as a painter on commissions connected with churches, theatre, and film, reflecting a practice that is at once autonomous and applied to performative and liturgical contexts.

In publishing, he released Alchimie et Mystique, a work stated to have been published by Taschen in 1996.

Since 2002, he has held the position of professor of graphic arts and painting at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, a post mentioned in the biographical notices consulted.

In 2005, he founded the Melton Prior Institute for Reportage Drawing and Printing Culture, an organisation described as being linked to his practice of documentary drawing.
