Alexander Emil Im Thurn
Born in 1829.
Died in 1889.
Alexander Emil Im Thurn was a painter whose work focused on portraits and genre scenes. He was a pupil of Tobias Hurter in Schaffhausen, which undoubtedly influenced his artistic development. He spent most of his life in Nîmes, France, where he was able to absorb the local atmosphere.
Although less well known, his contributions to painting deserve to be rediscovered in the context of his time.
