Albert Wagen was an artist whose activity focused on decoration and applied drawing. He was first a student and later a teacher at the Karlsruhe School of Decorative Arts. From 1888 onwards, he held a teaching position at the Allgemeine Gewerbeschule in Basel.
His career bears witness to a commitment to art education and to a contribution to the training of future artists in the field of applied arts.
