Albert Carl Angst was a Swiss artist of many talents, working as a sculptor, painter and draughtsman. After studying at the École des arts industriels in Geneva, he travelled to Paris, where he collaborated with Jean Dampt as a woodcarver. His artistic output, which includes portraits, monuments, medals, as well as carved furniture and decorative compositions, reflects an evolution towards refined forms that anticipated Art Deco.
His works are held at the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève and have been exhibited at the Kunsthaus Zürich. The results of public sales merit further investigation.
