Norbert Kricke

Norbert Kricke (1922–1984), a German sculptor, pursued a practice of drawing on paper, which the sales catalogue places throughout his life, alongside his spatial sculptures made of metal lines. According to the catalogue, some drawings prepare sculptural works, while others are conceived as autonomous works: drawing thus accompanies several aspects of his practice. A sheet from 1956 illustrates this practice; it is described as a charcoal drawing measuring 49.9 × 64.9 cm.

This profile brings together identity references for Norbert Kricke and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.

8 references are documented at Kornfeld, Sotheby’s, Lempertz. Each record links to its source; the amounts are not a general valuation of the artist’s work.
