The Prussian painter Karl Eduard Biermann (1803–1892), born and deceased in Berlin, is also listed in the shortened form Eduard Biermann. After an apprenticeship at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin, he studies decorative painting and landscape painting at the academy, notably under Johann Karl Jakob Gerst and Karl Wilhelm Gropius.
He initially works as a porcelain and decorative painter before devoting himself to landscape painting; the source describes him as one of Berlin’s first landscape watercolourists. In the late 1820s, his study tours take him along the Rhine, to Switzerland, the Tyrol and Italy.
In 1847, he takes part in the paintings of the Egyptian Court and the Greek Hall at the Neues Museum.
