After training at the École d’enseignement technique de Chivasso and then at the Accademia Albertina, where he studied from 1894 to 1899, Cesare Ferro Milone developed his career between Italian exhibitions and decorative commissions in Bangkok. He exhibited at the Promotrice in Turin in 1900 and 1901. That year, his painting Preghiera received a gold medal at the Feste Estive exhibition in Livorno.
His presence at the Venice Biennale is documented in 1903, 1905, 1910, 1920, 1922 and 1926. The source associates L’attesa with the 1903 edition.
He travelled to Thailand to contribute to the decoration of the Royal Palace in Bangkok. The subjects of his frescoes there are drawn from local mythology, situating his decorative work within a repertoire linked to the place. In 1925, he returned to Bangkok to take part in the decoration of Prince Norashing’s palace and to complete various portraits.
