Pierre Silvin, born in Talence in 1959, developed his drawing and painting outside academic art training. He practised from his youth, adopting a more regular working rhythm at thirty-five while continuing his employment in administration. His working space remained integrated into family life, with a kitchen or living-room table serving as his studio.
His compositions bring human figures, animals, plants and geometric forms together in dense arrangements. Faces, often female, emerge among networks of lines and compartments of colour. Graphite, gouache and coloured pencils allow him to combine layering with transparency, creating effects of spatial depth. The Musée de la Création Franche presented a solo exhibition in 2015. His works also belong to the Neuve Invention and De Stadshof collections.
This profile brings together identity references for Pierre Silvin and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.
