Charles Fazzino

Documented citizenships : United States

Charles Fazzino, born in New York in 1955, is an American artist trained at the School of Visual Arts. He developed a language associated with Pop Art, distinguished by vivid colours, abundant detail and relief construction. His views of New York and other cities bring monuments, figures and everyday scenes together in densely animated compositions.

Production notably combines silkscreen printing with the manual cutting and assembly of several layers of paper. This layering gives the image actual depth. Fazzino also explores sports and figures from popular culture, including Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. He creates works connected with the Super Bowl and baseball, while The Faces of Fort Lauderdale was presented at that city’s Museum of Art in 2010.

This profile brings together identity references for Charles Fazzino and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.
