Lothar Charoux

Born : 1912Died : 1987Documented citizenships : Brazil

The Brazilian painter Lothar Charoux, born in 1912 and deceased in 1987, also worked as a designer and teacher. A notice places his work between expressionism and constructivism, two tendencies that define its poles.

A composition of intersecting parallel red and blue lines illustrates the constructivist strand of his work. In 1959, he was among the artists in “Ausstellung Brasilianischer Künstler”, presented at Haus der Kunst in Munich from June to September. He is also listed in “Brasilianische Kunst der Gegenwart”, at Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen, from November 1959 to January 1960.

This profile brings together identity references for Lothar Charoux and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.

1 references are documented at Dobiaschofsky. Each record links to its source; the amounts are not a general valuation of the artist’s work.
