Fritz Halberg-Krauss (1874–1951) was a German painter associated with the landscape tradition of the Munich school. Regular appearances at the Glaspalast exhibitions from 1908 placed his activity within Munich’s artistic life. Documented works depict varied settings, including a pond, dawn at the Simssee and cattle in meadowland. Oil painting on panel and on cardboard formed part of his working methods. These subjects offer an approach to his interest in the meeting of natural surroundings and rural life, without confining his whole output to a single location. He died in Prien am Chiemsee, where his work also forms part of the municipal artistic heritage following the acquisition of a group of works in 1996.
