Georg Hemmrich

Born : 1874Died : 1939

According to a sales notice, Georg Hemmrich’s paintings, mostly small in format, belong to the tradition of the Munich School. His work primarily evokes the small towns of southern Germany, where horses recur frequently.

The documented subjects include a lively horse market with two carriages and numerous people, painted in oil on cardboard and dated around 1900, as well as a street in Mittenwald with a stagecoach, signed “G. Hemmrich”. The work titled “Bei der Heuernte”, an oil painting on wood, signed and bearing the inscription “München”, extends this interest in scenes of everyday life.

This profile brings together identity references for Georg Hemmrich and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.
