SwissArtGallery · Documented identity
Ryszard Zając (1929–2016) was born in Kosów and died in Warsaw. From 1948 to 1954, he studied at the Szczecin University of Technology, followed by the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. He was a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers from 1963.
According to an auction biographical note, his works have been exhibited in England, Italy, France, Japan, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, the United States and Germany. The note also states that his works are held in collections around the world.
The titles and dates of several works provide some reference points in his oeuvre: “Nude (green)” is dated 1966, “Beige still life” 1970, while “View of an Italian city” is dated circa 1960/1980. The published provenance of “Beige still life” mentions a purchase from the artist and a private collection in Copenhagen. For “View of an Italian city”, it mentions Zofingen, Switzerland, as well as a private collection in Poland in 2022. The Dobiaschofsky page states that “Kompozycja Bizantyjska” (Byzantine composition) was sold for CHF 1,200.
This profile brings together identity references for Ryszard Zajac and paintings, drawings and works on paper documented in auction catalogues.
22 references are documented at Dobiaschofsky, DognyAuction, Schuler, Piguet, Zofingen. Each record links to its source; the amounts are not a general valuation of the artist’s work.
