Alexandre René Véron was a French painter who exhibited at the Salon between 1848 and 1887. His painting titles trace a geography of rural landscapes and river views, from the forest of Fontainebleau to the surroundings of Paris. He showed Intérieur de grange à Marlotte, près de Fontainebleau in 1848 and Le soir ; forêt de Fontainebleau in 1855. The banks of the Seine also feature in this itinerary, with views of Les Andelys and Chatou. Other exhibited works evoke Osny, Senlis and the Albarine at Saint-Rambert-en-Bugey. This succession of places documents his interest in farms, woodland and waterways.
